Playing through Valheim as a kickass Viking of your own creation is pretty great, making the mark you leave on its world and the triumph of killing its deadly bosses slightly more tangible. But what if we told you that dialing the (visual) badassery up to eleven was possible thanks to a mod that adds characters from The Witcher to the survival game?
SiennaGrace’s aptly named The Witcher Characters in Valheim mod does precisely what it says on the tin: it grabs four of the popular RPG series’ most recognizable characters, pulls them out of their world, turning them into builders and cooks that also have to worry about survival meters.
In practice, installing The Witcher Characters in Valheim mod essentially lets you replace your character’s appearance with that of Geralt, Ciri, Yennefer, or Triss. Regardless of which one you pick, you’ll first need to install the Valheim VRM mod, which makes switching the appearance of characters possible in the first place.
With it set up, you can head to Nexus Mods, where you’ll find the files you need to download alongside instructions to make it work. You essentially have to either create a new character bearing the name of one of the four heroes from The Witcher or rename one of the four files using your current Valheim character’s name.
Although the mod doesn’t also grant you the powers of Geralt, Ciri, Yennefer, or Triss, looking like them is pretty cool unto itself. If you’re aching for more awesome ways to shake up your time with the popular survival game, our list of the best Valheim mods has got you covered.
