Valheim has an assortment of items you can craft that make exploring its biomes slightly easier. If you’re often exploring the game’s mountainous regions, the Wolf Fur Cape is great to have. But, as with most items in the game, you’ll need to gather the proper materials before putting it on your back.
All the materials required to craft the Wolf Fur Cape in Valheim are actually found in the Mountain biome, so you’ll get a sense of why it’s great to have the item rather early, while dealing with the inevitable debuffs.
As you can probably tell from its name, you’ll need to find yourself some wolves to slaughter. It’s a bit unfortunate, since taming all of them is as honorable as goals get, but the life of Viking is filled with much brutality. Besides, chances are wolves have already tried (and maybe even succeeded) to end your life a few times, so treat it like justified revenge.
You’ll need 6 Wolf Pelts and 1 Wolf Trophy to craft the Wolf Fur Cape in Valheim, the latter being rarer drops that may involve some farming. You’ll also need 4 Silver, which can also be found in the Mountain biome. With the materials in your bag, head to a level 2 Workbench, and you should be set.
The Wolf Fur Cape grants 1 armor and makes you resistant vs. frost, which protects you from the Cold and Freezing effects as long as you’re not wet. Subsequent upgrades improve the item’s armor but require additional Wolf Pelts and Silver, as well as a higher level Workbench.
