Blackwall VR is gearing up for the release of War of the Worlds: Project Svalin, a VR action-adventure title that aims for a retelling of H.G. Wells’ classic tale.
War of the Worlds: Project Svalin unleashes an alien invasion upon Earth right at the height of World War 2, when humanity is already strained from the ongoing global conflict.

The alien invaders had sent ships to Earth before the invasion and, humanity’s sole hope lies with one such alien vessel, previously shot down, now part of Project Svalinn.
“The player takes on the role of Sgt John Clarke, a highly celebrated soldier who has been severely wounded in Italy. Rushed back to the UK, you awake in the belly of Project Svalinn’s HQ in London on the eve of invasion. Your consciousness has been transplanted into the Svalinn suit, giving you access to the same technology possessed by the invaders.”, the announcement post reads.
“Time is short, you must master the futuristic weaponry and become familiar with the capabilities of your new body but the first of the motherships have been seen above the outskirts of the city.”, it continues.
While no War of the Worlds: Project Svalin gameplay was shown, the VR title will take players to different countries and cities, while giving them the opportunity to use both traditional and futuristic weapons.
War of the Worlds: Project Svalin currently has a release window of Winter 2019 and is heade to the Oculus Quest, Oculus Rift, HTC Vive, HTC Vive Pro, Index VR and Windows Mixed Reality. You can read the announcement in full on Blackwall’s website.
