Warframe is a game of many features, not least of which is fishing. If you were wondering where to find rare fish on Plains, you’ve come to the right place, as we’ll show you how and where to complete objectives that call for you to catch them.
The first thing you need to keep in mind is that rare fish spawns depend on a number of factors. Location, time of day, and your choice of Bait all come into play here, so if you’re looking to get stuff done fast, it helps to know precisely what you’re looking for.
Warframe Rare Fish Plains
Chances are that you’re already well-aware of how fishing in Warframe works. You equip your spear, come close to a larger body of water, and wait for fishies to come by, which is when you take aim and throw your spear at them. The mechanics of it are simple, but there’s a substantial amount of content related to this feature, and some of the crucial information may be rather impenetrable on its own.
Since we’re talking about Plains of Eidolon here, let us first consider which species of local fish are rare:

The catch with these fish is that they all require appropriate bait. Otherwise, the chances of them appearing are practically nil. Of all these, the earliest rare fish you’ll realistically have access to is Murkray, and good news is that they’re pretty easy to get a hold of.
Here’s what you’ll need:

We also recommend equipping and using the Luminous Dye item, as it highlights all the fish in the surrounding area, making it way easier to catch them than it is by default.
When you’re done with all of that, you can load into Plains of Eidolon and begin your search. If you’d like to catch some Murkray with as little hassle as possible, however, go right as soon as you enter the Plains. Keep going until you reach the Hillside Ruin in the lower right corner of the map, and then descend to the shore.
When you’re next to the water, it’s only a matter of spotting the fishing spots, as depicted in the screenshot above. Upon finding one, throw the Murkray Bait nearby, as well as a batch of Luminous Dye, and you should be swimming in Murkray in no time.
