A Warhammer 40,000 TV series focusing on Inquisitor Eisenhorn is currently in development, Games Workshop and Big Light Productions announced today.
The Eisenhorn TV series will have Frank Spotnitz, who also worked on The Man in the High Castle and X-Files, acting as both Showrunner and Executive Producer.
Warhammer 40,000 Eisenhorn TV Series
“Drawing from sci-fi, fantasy and crime genres, Eisenhorn will see Inquisitor Gregor Eisenhorn and his band of investigators fight to thwart the monstrous schemes of aliens, heretics and daemons before mankind’s doom is sealed.”, a press release reads.
It’s worth keeping in mind that, given how the Eisenhorn TV series is currently in development, it’ll likely be a good while before we get to see it on our screens. For TV series, development is the process that precedes production, meaning that elements such as characters and script are currently being decided and worked upon. As an example, the Netfilx TV series based on The Witcher is long past both its development and production phases.
Eisenhorn is, perhaps, the best candidate for a Warhammer 40,000 TV series, given how the novels are widely seen as the most readable by the general audience, while also tapping into what makes Warhammer 40k special. With plenty of time still left before we’ll get to see it, picking up the novels wouldn’t be a bad idea at all. A game, called Eisenhorn: XENOS, was also released back in 2016, but it’s probably best to forget about it.
