Publisher Frontier Foundry and developer Complex Games today unveiled a cinematic trailer alongside the first gameplay screenshots for Warhammer 40,000: Chaos Gate - Daemonhunters.
Officially revealed earlier in June, Warhammer 40,000: Chaos Gate - Daemonhunters is the follow-up to 1998’s classic strategy game. Described as “a fast-paced, turn-based tactical RPG,” it follows a squad of Grey Knights battling the forces of Chaos as they attempt to stop a plague called The Bloom from spreading.
“Armoured in faith and shielded by devotion, the Grey Knights are humanity’s greatest weapon in the 41st Millennium. Controlling a Strike Force of these superhuman Daemonhunters, players will experience the visceral, brutal combat the Warhammer 40,000 universe is renowned for, while following the journey of these battle-brothers in a narrative penned by acclaimed New York Times bestselling author, Aaron Dembski-Bowden,” reads an emailed press release.
Later in September, we’ll also get our first look at Warhammer 40,000: Chaos Gate - Daemonhunters gameplay and very likely see Grey Knights mopping up some of Nurgle’s dirty followers.
The title is slated to launch at some point in 2022 on PC, via both Steam and the Epic Games Store, and can now be wishlisted. On a slightly different note, Frontier has also confirmed that Age of Sigmar RTS is still in development.
