World of Warcraft: Classic’s Season of Discovery Phase 7’s release date is here, giving us the opportunity to face off against a familiar undead threat as we assault the floating necropolis of Naxxramas.
This, of course, follows the outlined plan to explore and alter all of vanilla WoW’s original phases. Staying true to the spirit of SoD, between its start and end dates, we’ll get to experience a handful of new additions, including a Scourge-themed world event.

WoW: Classic’s Season of Discovery Phase 7 has locked in its release date to January 28, 2025. The Naxxramas raid opens the following week, on February 6. No end date has been announced so far.

After Phase 6 kept us busy throughout November and December, visiting Naxxramas should provide a welcome change of scenery.
The new Karazhan Crypts dungeon challenges well-geared players who complete its attunement process to face new threats and uncover its secrets.
WoW: Classic’s SoD Phase 7 also introduces a Scourge Invasion world event that sees us facing Arthas’ minions once again.
Spread across the Eastern Plaguelands, Azshara, Blasted Lands, Burning Steppes, Tanaris, and Winterspring zones, but also major cities and select dungeons, vanquishing enemies and completing quests rewards Necrotic Runes used to purchase various items from Commander Thomas Helleran at Light’s Hope Chapel.
In addition, the Rune Brokers waiting in major cities sell each runes and rune-related discovery items for the low price of a single copper.
Finally, the Naxxramas raid sees the familiar necropolis returning alongside its famed bosses. Venturing inside, however, will mean you have to deal with new mechanics and secrets, while the Empowered difficulty provides an additional challenge that can be overcome using Santctified gear.
