World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King’s release is almost here and Blizzard has released a new Journey trailer that captures the atmosphere of the expansion while showcasing a number of important locations players will explore and fight across.
The work of community content creator Hurricane, WoW: WotLK Classic’s Journey trailer takes an approach that’s closer to the player experience while remaining adequately cinematic.
Starting with the Lich King unleashing his endless undead armies upon Azeroth, it continues with both Alliance and Horde forces setting off for Northrend.
The trailer nails the grandeur of Icecrown Citadel towering above the frozen wastes and the seemingly peaceful Borean Tundra, which the two factions proceed to disturb with their arrival.
It then showcases several WotLK Classic raids, including Ulduar and Icecrown Citadel, which will be introduced in post-launch patches.
The Journey trailer places more emphasis on player classes, which can be seen hurling familiar spells while battling Arthas’ minions.
If you’re in for a serving of pure nostalgia fuel ahead of the expansion’s launch next week, you can watch World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King Classic’s Journey trailer below.
In other news, Blizzard previously sent out surveys to some players, gauging interest for a potential Cataclysm Classic release further down the line.
