World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King Classic’s world first level 80 has already been claimed, despite the highly anticipated expansion only being live for a handful of hours. Naowh, from EU guild Echo, is the first player to reach the new level cap.
He nabbed WotLK Classic’s world first level 80 on his Blood Elf Paladin. The exact moment is embedded below, concluding with his character excitedly plummeting to its death shortly after reaching max level.
The race for world first level 80 wasn’t new to Wrath of the Lich King Classic, being a long-standing tradition for Blizzard’s MMORPG.
Every time the level cap increases, players race to see who can reach it first. WotLK Classic’s pre-patch likely helped all those involved prepare, although the lag and queues affecting some of the game’s servers might have ruined plans for some players.
WotLK Classic’s world first level 80 can only be claimed once, but players can still obtain achievements for being the first to reach the level cap on their realms, alongside a plethora of others introduced alongside the system.
And, of course, there’s the entirety of Northrend to explore alongside new raids and dungeons to brave as new content phases launch further down the line.
Big Congratulations to @Naowhxd for getting the World First Level 80 in Wrath Classic! 🔥

He says this is his "vacation" away from Retail, but we all know he just loves being first 😎 pic.twitter.com/S2wolQSCVW
