Like its predecessor, XCOM 2 has a ruthless side, mercilessly killing soldiers you’ve spent hours training. If you’re tired of this happening or replaying the game with a more relaxed experience in mind, you might be wondering about the available console commands and cheats.
Here is a list of various useful XCOM 2 console commands and cheats, for those moments when you bump into a mission you just can’t seem to beat or simply don’t want to deal with the game’s ruthless difficulty.
XCOM 2 Console Commands and Cheats
XCOM 2’s console commands and cheats let you alter the game in a number of different ways, ranging from those that grant infinite turns or invulnerability to others that provide a smaller power boost in the form of resources. several Before you can use console commands and cheats, you need to right-click on your XCOM 2 entry in the Steam library, then select properties and Set Launch Options from the general tab.
In the freshly opened box, add -allowconsole. You should now be able to bring up the console in-game by pressing the tilde (~) key.
If you’re using the Gog.com version of XCOM 2, right-click on the game’s shortcut and add -allowconsole next to the existing text in the “Target” dialogue box. Open the console in-game with a tilde (~).
Here are the console commands and cheats that caught our eye:
- PowerUp - Enables godmode, removes reloading requirement
- TakeNoDamage - All units no longer take damage
- ToggleUnlimitedActions - Grants unlimited AP
- ForceCritHits - Guarantees critical hits
- GiveActionPoints [Number] - Grants set number of action points to a unit
- TTC - Teleports selected unit to cursor
- SkipAI - Skips AI's turn
- SetStrategyFacilitiesUnlockAll - Unlocks all facilities for building
- SetStrategyFacilitiesInstantBuild - Allows instantly building facilities
- MakeSoldierAClass [Soldier Name] Grenadier - Turns soldier into Grenadier
- MakeSoldierAClass [Soldier Name] PsiOperative - Turns soldier into Psi Operative
- MakeSoldierAClass [Soldier Name] Rookie - Turns soldier into Rookie
- MakeSoldierAClass [Soldier Name] Ranger - Turns soldier into Ranger
