Sniper Elite developers Rebellion have revealed a new campaign level for Strange Brigade, their upcoming co-op successor to the beloved Nazi Zombie Army series.
The developers have released a new developer commentary video which shows off a new level, The Lost Valley, as well as new enemies, new powers, weapon upgrades, and some sort of Godzilla-like creature.
New enemies include the teleporting acrobatic Ghoul, a giant scorpion, and the aforementioned giant Godzilla-like lizard monster - which is the second "giant" enemy that Rebellion have teased, including the Anubis statue at the end of the level we played.
The video also highlights puzzles, including a Pipemania-like puzzle that leads to an Indiana Jones-style death trap room. Interactive traps such as a burning light beam and a spiked log trap.
Weapons can be upgraded with power gems. Each weapon has a different number of gem slots, and these gems can add damage upgrades, ricochets, and ice or fire effects. Two new weapons, the Explosive Crossbow and the Flamethrower, are also shown off.
Amulet Powers also make an appearance. These are special abilities, unique to each character, which you charge by killing enemies. They were a little weedy in our initial demo, but they seem a lot more satisfying now. There were three shown - one involved tagging six enemies for six powerful shots, another was a chain lightning attack, and the last was a radial explosive fire-wave called the Wrath of Ra.
Strange Brigade is out August 28 on PC, Xbox One and Playstation 4.
