DICE and EA have been hard at work delivering a ton of free content to Battlefield 4 players. They dropped the Operation Outbreak free DLC about half a month ago. Coming with the holidays, they’ll be releasing a new DLC called Legacy Operations along a holiday update and it features a fan favorite map reworked for 2015.
Dragon Valley was a map introduced in Battlefield 2. Taking place in Central China, It was huge map centered around valley of rivers, trees, and traditionally-inspired structures. The folks at DICE have reworked it in order to bring from the limited capabilities of the hardware available for Battlefield 2 to the next-gen levels of detail available in Battlefield 4.
Stated in the announcement, some changes included “increased the terrain verticality to closer mimic a real life Chinese river valley,” as well as “a dynamic cloud layer, which not only adds a welcomed air-to-ground separation in terms of gameplay, but also helps shroud far distances at ground level.” Many things were kept the same, such as the maps reliance on a ton of destructible bridges which are paramount or limited to the movement of armor such as tanks.
The Legacy Operations DLC doesn’t have a release date yet, but will be released sometime in December alongside a separate holiday update.
