Gamers heading into the Dark Zone, a special area reserved for PvP action, should be warned, as the region is reportedly suffering widespread hacking and cheating. According to frustrated players, it’s making the mode unplayable for legitimate gameplay. Cheats include unlimited ammo and superspeed.
Ubisoft posted on their official forum that they are aware of the problem, confirming that it’s exploitation of glitches, not hacking. ”Guys, so you’re aware the things discussed here are not in fact hacks or cheats, but merely abuse of glitches that exist in the game currently. These glitches are currently being worked on by the team,” reassured Ubisoft’s community manager.
However, players disagree and state that the game’s problem is a deeper, exploitable issue. One Reddit user complained, ”This is not just lack of anticheat, it is global networking architecture f—up. I highly doubt that this will be fixed any time soon after release. You probably might wanna stay away from PVP area while this problem is present.”
Tom Clancy’s The Division is due to be released in roughly a month on 8th March, 2016. If the rampant cheating isn’t dealt with by the time the game is released, it could die a quick death on PC. No cheating has been reported on the console version as of yet.
