Command & Conquer beta begins "first half of 2013," sign-ups open now
The new Command & Conquer from BioWare Victory, which was to be C&C: Generals 2, has become a free-to-play affair from EA. It will launch without a singleplayer campaign, but 'will get one'. Community manager EA_CIRE acknowledges that many will say "that this is not a 'true' C&C," but says that applied to the original Generals. For him, C&C "isn't just about Tiberium, Kane" and Yuri.
BioWare's December Spike VGA reveal linked to Command & Conquer?
A link has surfaced between BioWare's impending new game reveal and the Command & Conquer franchise as a Victory Games worker CV said they worked at a BioWare studio. Victory Games was created by EA to head up their strategy titles, and is said to be reviving Command & Conquer. The studio promised a reveal "later this year" - mere coincidence?
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 features always on internet DRM
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 is fairly early in development, but GSC Game World has announced that it would feature the dreaded "internet always on" DRM that has been inflicted on various games, like Assassin's Creed and Command & Conquer 4 in the past, and for the upcoming Diablo III.
EA ask Command & Conquer fans for suggestions on new game
The Command & Conquer team at EA have noticed their changes in C&C4: Tiberian Twilight didn't exactly go down a treat with fans, and so now ask for input. They say the "most discussed and loved ideas" will reach the development team. Hopefully they include more traditional base building, and less gimmicky units.
Canned Command & Conquer titles now at 6, Arena trailer leaks
EA pulled the plug on Command & Conquer: Arena which was an MMORTS title in the works, however feature elements survived and made it into C&C 4. This makes the 6th C&C to be cancelled that we have become aware off. Arena joins Tiberian Sun 2, Renegade 2, Continuum, Tiberian Incursion and Tiberium.
