Final Fantasy Origins leads this week's PSN releases
This week's PlayStation Network releases are headed by a PSOne Classic, and this week it truly is a classic: Final Fantasy Origins. Origins introduced the classic RPG series to the PlayStation, melding Final Fantasy and Final Fantasy II (which had previously only been released in Japan) into one game, updating the graphics and sound for the then-new console.
Xbox 360 "more diverse every day"
Microsoft's win for Kinect Sports as the 'Best Family Game' at this year's Video Game BAFTAs proves their "moving to a broader audience" globally. Publishers eat it up because of the "range of consumers" on offer. Kinect is "what we're focusing on", said Microsoft's Neil Thompson. They beat LEGO.
Disney Interactive see 58% Q3 revenue rise, losses reach $13m
The third quarter posting from Disney Interactive show they raked in revenues of $349 million, which is up 58 percent from the same period in 2009. However they still posted a loss of $13 million, a 13 percent increase. Disney Interactive reportedly coughed $763.2 million for Playdom in July 2010.
Toy Story 3 tops UK for 3rd week
The UK all formats chart is once again crowning Pixar's animated Toy Story 3 for another week as it sells across Xbox 360, PS3, Wii and PC. It was booted to 2nd place some weeks back by StarCraft II's arrival, but the Blizz RTS is now 12th. Red Dead: Redemption now lurks at 2nd.
Crackdown 2 clings to UK chart top, Toy Story 3 enters in at 5th
Ruffian Games' Crackdown 2 has kept its Agent perched atop the UK all formats chart for another week, with Dance on Broadway taking 2nd. That means LEGO Harry Potter and Red Dead Redemption get knocked down a notch. Toy Story 3 as the new kid on the block tackles FIFA for 5th.
