Far Cry New Dawn is out now, and it's a surprisingly great entry in Ubisoft's long-running shooter series, despite coming out less than a year after Far Cry 5. It's also very resource heavy, with everything from crafting weapons to reviving allies needing certain items. In particular, one item you'll definitely need is Far Cry New Dawn Ethanol.
Ethanol has one major purpose in Far Cry New Dawn - you need it to upgrade your Prosperity homebase facilities, and so get access to various upgrades such as improved health, tougher allies, and even unlock Fast Travel. Consequently Ethanol is the most valuable resource in the game. Here's how to get Ethanol in Far Cry New Dawn easily and quickly!
How to Get More Far Cry New Dawn Ethanol
You'll be needing to get as much Ethanol as you can in Far Cry New Dawn, and there are three primary ways to get the stuff. Here's what you need to do to get Ethanol, and ways you can squeeze a little more out too...
- 1. Outposts
- The main place to get a substantial amount of Ethanol is by taking over enemy Outposts. You can either find these bases by exploring or by talking to Information Gatherers (they have a blue '!' over their heads). Head in there and take it over by killing all enemies, and you'll instantly get a load of Ethanol.
- You get +50 bonus Ethanol for remaining undetected and if no alarms have been set off.
- You can then choose to "Scavenge" the Outpost to get 50 Ethanol instantly, but then the Outpost will be taken over again and advance a level. You can now conquer it again and will get more Ethanol to do it! You can do this multiple times, too.

- 2. Ethanol Tankers
- When you drive around you may occasionally spot the symbol for an oil can, and if you head there you'll see a tanker carrying Ethanol. Carefully take out the guards and driver, and then drive the Ethanol tanker to Prosperity or the nearest friendly Outpost to get a decent amount of Ethanol instantly - usually around 50.

- 3. Supply Drops
- The third main way of getting Ethanol is in Supply Drops. Occasionally you'll get a warning that a drop is incoming, or you'll hear a plane flying overhead, then you'll just have to keep an eye out for the box it drops (it'll have an icon on it). Kill the enemies going for it, and raid it. Usually you'll get around 33 Ethanol from a drop.
