Hogwarts Legacy faces you with several choices during your time studying magic, one of the most important revolving around which talents you pick for your character. Getting your build just right makes it easier to deal with the challenges ahead and, if you’re unsure about your picks, you might be wondering if there’s a way to respec your character.
A respec option would allow you to try out different builds without having to start a new Hogwarts Legacy playthrough, so it’s easy to see why it is rather appealing to many players. At the same time, its absence does make you carefully consider each talent you pick, making you more attached to your character.
Hogwarts Legacy Respec
Unfortunately, Hogwarts Legacy doesn’t seem to feature a respec option at launch, at least not one that’s baked into its systems and comes up during the game.
Unless it’s carefully hidden in a forgotten corner of the school or its surroundings, it looks like we’ll have to live with the talent choices we make or start a new playthrough to fix any changes.
- Hogwarts Legacy respec status: Not available
There is, however, one alternative way to respec your character in Hogwarts Legacy, although that involves venturing into the realm of player-made mods.
As its name suggests, the Talent Reset Potion mod adds a potion to the game that, when drank, allows you to reassign your earned talent points.
It acts as an excellent method to address any potential mistakes you might have made along the way, and take off some of the pressure you might feel when customizing your character’s abilities.
Not everyone will be comfortable using it, but it’s currently the only way to respec in Hogwarts Legacy that we’re aware of.
