According to a statement issued by Nintendo, many gamers have sent complaints to Nintendo about their Wii’s being unable to read the discs for the newly released Smash Bros. Brawl, which isn’t out in Europe or America yet.
This is only currently effecting Smash Bros. Brawl because its the first game to feature a dual layer DVD, which Nintendo says is more sensitive to a dirty lens and puts dirt and dust to blame for these problems.
The problem is fixable by cleaning the Wii’s drive lens. If you aren’t able to clean your system then Nintendo is planning on doing that for you, all you’ve got to do is send them your system, warranty card and a copy of Smash Bros. Brawl to a Nintendo service center in Kyoto and they will fix it for free.
We expect these problems to hit Europe and America once the game is released in these regions.
