Aside from the upcoming Aerosmith dedication, which is due out this June, Activision are ”about two weeks away” from spilling detailed details detailing some more stuff.
The new Guitar Hero will include more instruments and even vocals, something Activision’s Bobby Kotick spoke of a while back. A strumming DS game is coming too.
”We’ve put a lot of additional development resources, a lot of additional music licenses resources, a lot of additional hardware supplier resources against the title to fuel growth over next year,” said CEO Mike Griffith.
”We’re excited by the increased musical content and innovation we’re bringing. We do expect a leap forward in innovation with our holiday launch, and we’re about two weeks away from providing very specific details on that.”
Another interesting thing Kotick mentioned was getting songs from bands local to gamers in the game, the recent corporate merging also let Vivendi tap into Universal Music Group’s catalogue of songs.
Much like the console versions of the game, the DS too would get its own plug-in hardware so rockers can rock on their handheld. Guitar Hero: On Tour is expected in July and will come along with a fret board peripheral which clips onto the side of the DS, you use your fingers on the touch screen and voila - rock DS style.
