Gervais was speaking to free magazine Shortlist where he revealed a trip to GTAIV’s Liberty City; he’ll be making an appearance at The Comedy Club.
Watching some stand-up hilarity is but one of many extra goodies in store from Rockstar Games. Gervais teases he’ll be around elsewhere in Liberty too.
”It’s a first - which always interests me,” said Gervais. ”It was shot in New York, my favourite place in the world, and I got to wear a tight lycra suit as part of the digital process. No, hold on, that wasn’t so good.”
”Unfortunately they captured the whole horror, except I look slightly tougher. It is seriously a big deal, though. Games have outsold Hollywood for the past few years so it’s nice to be a small part of that.”
What other roles he could play in GTAIV is anyone’s guess at the moment, he could offer some side missions or even let you treat him to a night out drink-athon. Ricky Gervais will perform about 3 minutes of exclusive stuff for The Comedy Club, including some of his most recent material.
One thing’s for sure, Rockstar Games know how to make the best use of their celebrity appearances whether it be a quick cameo or a full blown role like Samuel L. Jackson’s Officer Tenpenny from GTA: San Andreas.
