Space Hulk 1.0 full game released. Based on a 1989 board game set in the Warhammer 40,000 universe, the original game (1993) was a first-person shooter. Since then, Teardown has decided to release a version of the game more true to the original board game. This version uses the Allegro Gaming Library as a basis for the build.

Q: What is Space Hulk?
A: Space Hulk is a board game developed by Games Workshop several years ago. It is a turn based game focusing on the fictional battle between man and alien in a distant world. Several variations have been made to both Amiga and PC’s but none has really embraced the turn aspect of the game so that was our intentions when we started making this game.
Q: What kind of quality can I expect from the game?
A: This game builds on old traditions such as hand pixeled 2D sprites. There is no multi billion 3D engine backing it up, only the Allegro Gaming Library and what that can provide.
But when it comes to quality and fun the pieces put into the game are well polished thanks to a development process of one and a half year with quality assurance and testing from almost day one.
Q: Is there cooperation/multiplayer in the game?
A: The game is only designed to be a single player game. You take on the role of the commander of the Space Marine chapters and the computer play as your enemy; leading the hordes of Genestealers against you.
Q: Advanced AI?
A: Artificial Intelligence. Our goal was to make the enemy as smart as any human playing that part in the board game variant and so the enemies are programmed to attack your weakest link, circle around you, take you by surprise and attack in numbers. After several months of testing we ourselves cannot anticipate the route they are going to take before they attack you and still they do not act by random but always try to outsmart you and that is something we are really proud of.
Q: Can I make the window larger?
A: If you have fairly large size of your screen the game may seem a little small. Change the number in the “resulution.sh” from 1 to 2 to make the game-screen double the size as ordinary. However should you lack the sufficient space for the game it will crash. Then change the number back to 1.
Q: What will it cost to purchase?
A: Our version of Space Hulk is freeware meaning that you can download it for free and play as much as you want! Just go to the download-section.
Q: What platforms can Space Hulk be run on?
A: The tested platforms are Windows XP and Windows VISTA.
The game is build based on the Allegro Gaming Library meaning that if Allegro supports your platform and a DLL supporting your platform the game should run.
