A while back Zootfly floated footage of a Ghostbusters game but had no license from Sony to do much of anything with it.
Mark Randel, president of Terminal Reality, commented in their interview with OXM that ”what Zootfly did for us, inadvertently, is help sell the concept.”
”They had no knowledge - we were already working on the game six to nine months at that time, and the license was either signed or about to be signed,” said Randel.
”When their footage came out, we were close to our green-light meeting, and when the executives saw the reaction from the fans, they immediately knew, ‘Hey, Ghostbusters is going to be a big hit - we need to put this game into production.’”
Now that has got to sting a little for peeps over at Zootfly but at least the underlying goal was achieved - a Ghostbusters game is coming to tackle giant marshmallow puff monsters near you.
Ghostbusters The Video Game is being released on PC, Xbox360, PS3, PS2, Wii and DS sometime this winter.
