The other is that it merely refers to in-game currency. The signups for closed beta testing mention ”points” that are ”non-refundable and non-tradable,” and used in a ”Game store”.
Blog site Darth Hater exposed the matter and delves deeper. EA has previously described the Star Wars MMO as ”micro-transaction-based” but later said that was a ”misunderstanding”.
Star Wars The Old Republic has recently opened up for closed beta testing applicants, though such was the popularity of the event that the website servers crashed. Even now the official BioWare website continues to suffer glitches surrounding user account actions.
