Slightly Mad Studios’ Need for Speed: SHIFT is going to be ”the best-looking racer out there” according to its producer, Suzi Wallace.
Many have commented the released screenshots for SHIFT are renders but all the shots are of in-game graphics she affirms. None of them have been ”edited in any way.”
”I think it’s the best-looking racer out there. If you look at our cockpits especially, there are other games with cockpits out there but I do think we’ve got the most stunning-looking cockpits,” said the SHIFT producer.
”The engine for us, you know we’ve come a long way with it and there’s been lots of improvements, but we think it’s way above our previous titles.”
Need for Speed: SHIFT is different from other releases within the franchise as this iteration will focus intently on providing a racing simulator and not an arcade like experience. It’s being released on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC sometime this year.
”We were quite chuffed when people were going ‘that’s blatantly a render, that’s definitely a render, there’s no way it’s in game’. It was like, well we know it is. None of our screen shots are edited in any way,” explained Wallace.
”If people out there think it’s a render and we know it’s in game, my boss was quite happy with that. That went down quite well!”
