Following the success of Archon for iPhone, React Games will be bringing the cult classic back to the PC. This much improved version will support multiplayer modes and HD.
It will also have online leader boards and achievements. The developers have been careful in ”maintaining the classic feel” of the 1980’s game. Another iPhone game is out soon.
”In bringing Archon to the PC we’ve really focused on maintaining the classic feel of the original game,” said React Games’ Brad Moss, reports Kotaku.
”That said, there were aspects of the title that needed updating for the modern audience. For example, the addition of 4 players was never in the original, but it adds so much fun it feels like it always belonged there.” Characters also level up, there are power ups and new layouts.
Pre-sales for Archon’s return will begin on October 15th. The original 8-bit game will be included in the new release for diehard fans to chew on. Fancy a blast from 1983?
