Asmodee Games has announced that the board game will be making its digital appearance over XBLA sometime in Q3 this year.
The aim of the game is to escape the dungeon or butcher your fellows on the way out. Asmodee say it will be ”a faithful adaptation” and not some casual arcade experience.
French developer Hydravision Games is developing the videogame for the Xbox 360, but other platforms should follow afterwards say Asmodee.
”The video game will be a faithful adaptation of the board game. It will not be an “arcade” version requiring reflex and dexterity, at least not for now…,” say the Dungeon Twister creators.
How the heck does one play a Dungeon Twister? Here’s the brief from the official site:
Take control of eight characters with different magical powers : warrior, troll, thief, priest, wizard… and head straight towards the dungeon’s exit!
The mission isn’t going to be easy and not only must you contend with fighting your opponents, the ground upon which you find yourself is unstable. The rooms turn and reveal new pathways, doors close and the beautiful route to victory that you just found is now a minefield of traps!
So, to play and win this game, you must choose your weapons : speed, trickery or strength and above all, give it everything you’ve got and use your powers of strategy!
Scenarios are available for the real game so DLC looks likely for the videogame version if it proves a hit with dungeon crawler types.
