Posting a net loss of just $72 million for its fourth quarter, Activision doesn’t feel the need to purge staff numbers or chop shop a bunch of studios.
Revenue for ‘08 saw $5.0 billion for the publisher, an increase of 20%. Activision CEO Bobby Kotick claimed 2009 will see ”more products than ever before” from the giant.
”We won’t be distracted by layoffs and restructuring and things that other companies are going to be distracted with,” Kotick told Reuters.
The company performed better in Q4 than they had predicted and can boast to having the top-selling videogame on every platform for most of the year. A publisher with good news, a rather rare thing these recent months.
”We don’t respond to managing our operating expenses because there’s a financial crisis, we do it all the time,” noted Kotick.
