Publisher EA has said that the Xbox 360 flock are the first to have unlocked a fourth map for the insanely popular console only game, with PS3 trailing behind.
The Coral Sea map is only made accessible once 43 million kills are registered, and 360 soldiers have managed that in under a week. PS3 stands at around 25 million, so a fair way yet.
”Congrats to the 360 players, who have unlocked Coral Sea by achieving the 43 million kills!” posted EA on the official game website.
”DICE announced the 4th Pacific location “Coral Sea” with Air Superiority Game Mode will be unlocked for players once they collectively reached 43 Million kills on the initial three maps, Wake Island, Guadalcanal, and Iwo Jima,” read the challenge blurb.
It unlocks a map full of aerial dog fighting, so piloting skills are an obvious plus unless you enjoy playing the role of fodder. The PS3 version launched a day later than on Xbox 360.
