Metal Gear creator Hideo Kojima can’t hide his affection for Zone of the Enders, and says it’s ”top of the list” in his mind, though he really wants to work an original title project next.
It would be ”too late” to think about a sequel after Peacewalker and Rising, so Kojima-san will ”probably have to plan before” they end. He’d likely take the ”producer side” of things.
Hideo Kojima explained that his studio has a lot of possible future projects ”and of course Zone of the Enders is one of the… on top of the list”, he revealed while speaking at Gamescom, with the interview just recently posted on the EU PlayStation.Blog.
”It would be kind of too late if I start thinking about after I finish Peace Walker and Rising, I’ll probably have to plan before,” said Kojima-san, asked what he plans to do after the latest Metal Gear projects. Peacewalker is for PSP, while Rising is Xbox 360 and PS3 bound.
”But I always want to do my next original title, and that’s always on my mind. And as I said before, I could kind of produce some other titles such as Zone of the Enders, and I would like to plan that - doing the producer side and also creating my own original new title.”
In the piece he talks about his Peacewalker ideas for co-op and how players, when in close proximity, could swap their gear and possibly even share a collective health. Check it out below.
