According to sources the supposedly ‘failed’ Final Fantasy spin-off project that Swedish developer GRIN was working on has in fact survived the studio’s collapse.
Square Enix is reported to been continuing work on the game, presumably with an in-house development team. It was obviously thought dead given GRIN’s closure after financial troubles.
Game Informer says that ”sources close to both parties” have given them the secret nod and wink, hinting that the Final Fantasy project is indeed ”still in development by publisher Square Enix.”
