The corporate giant has enjoyed 16 percent higher revenues this last quarter, selling 1.7m console units compared to last year’s same period of 1.3m.
While the company has had a positive flood regarding Xbox 360 and PC gaming, overall Microsoft’s revenue has fallen 6 percent from 2008 - though $13.65 billion is nothing to scoff at.
According to the Associated Press, this is the first quarterly period drop Microsoft has suffered for over 23 years of public trading. Still the games division is performing admirably for the giant, with 10m hardware units sold across the first three periods of FY09 compared to FY08’s 7.5m.
