The expansion to Ultima Online will add a ”flood of new content” this summer, it’s the eighth add-on and was announced last fall by EA.
Ultima is the longest running MMO to date, with Stygian Abyss adding a new playable race of Gargoyles including their home of Ter Mur to venture through. It’s a download only affair.
”Ultima Online has a unique place in the history of online games – it was the first truly successful MMORPG and it showed that there was a real market for these types of games,” said Mythic’s Mark Jacobs.
”UO is still going strong and we can’t wait to throw open the gates to the Stygian Abyss.”
The largest ever dungeon for the MMO will be added once the expansion goes live, offering mega bosses of ”unparalleled difficulty” along with hopefully riches that are just as equally unparalleled.
