According to Reuters’ news piece, publisher EA will be retailing next year with Dead Space 2 in their line-up. The horror sci-fi is returning with a full sequel to alien slaying, they say.
The project has been revealed before, albeit unofficially, through a developer’s LinkedIn profile. Visceral Games has been coy when discussing things past Dead Space: Extraction.
”Electronic Arts has a pair of horror offerings for gamers. The publisher recently shipped “Dead Space: Extraction” for Wii, which is a prequel to last fall’s Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC hit. “Dead Space 2” is in development for next year,” reports Reuters.
The LinkedIn leak said the Dead Space 2 project was in the ”later stages of pre-production,” ready to be pushed into full swing development, with most ”navigational and combat mechanics in place.” It doesn’t seem too far a stretch for Dead Space 2 to see 2010.
