Publisher Namco has said they’ve shipped out 2.5 million copies of Tekken 6, in all its variations, to European retailers for today’s launch of the game. EU fans ”very important”.
Tekken project director Katsuhiro Harada notes it’s ”a big day for us.” More than half of Tekken fans ”are from Europe” and their feedback has had ”a crucial role” in shaping Tekken 6.
”This is a big day for us. The European market and fans have always been very important to the success of Tekken so we’re thrilled that Tekken 6 will finally be in their hands today,” said Namco Bandai’s Katsuhiro Harada, Tekken Project Director, reports VideoGamer.com.
Tekken 6 comes in standard and Limited edition form, but also a special Arcade Stick bundle for those wanting a more retro experience of the latest entry. It can also boast the largest line-up of characters and a high framerate of 60 for high-definition gaming.
”More than 50 per cent of Tekken fans worldwide are from Europe and their feedback has played a crucial role in helping to shape the game. Reflecting this, many of the new characters added are from Europe. I hope everyone enjoys Tekken 6 and that they continue to support the franchise, and I look forward to seeing you all online.”
