So, yet another of gaming’s worst kept secrets has been revealed.
2K has just confirmed that Borderlands developer Gearbox is in fact spearheading the development of the infamous Duke Nukem Forever game.
First announced in 1997, this title became legendary simply because it was never released. Original creators 3D Realms went bust in May 2009 thanks to a lack of funding, and was subsequently sued by Take-Two over lack of delivery and the small matter of $12 million.
An article from the Wall Street Journal also reports that the game will be released sometime within the next year, which isn’t too farfetched as according to reports there is playable code at the 2K PAX booth this year - which is surprising, we must admit.
Stay tuned for further information.
