Executive producer Rod Fergusson acknowledges some see betas on consoles as public demos, but the studio wants serious feedback from users.
Small-scale ‘beta runs’ have been going on using Gears of War 2 and adjusted weaponry to match that of GoW3 on dedicated servers. When Gears of War 3 does launch it will be accompanied by dedicated servers to make extinct the ‘host advantage’.
While the latest game was on track for a release in April, Epic will make use of the 5 month extension with a multiplayer beta. They’ll incorporate user feedback in time for when the Xbox 360 exclusive title finally launches in fall 2011.
