Michael de Plater worked on EndWar at Ubi Shanghai, but now the Ubisoft executive reveals the EndWar 2 RTS project has been shelved.
Previously de Plater said they’d concentrate more on singleplayer, to make the sequel ”a lot of fun,” and changing how the ”combat chain works”.
“It’s on the backburner,” de Plater told VG247. That’s all the creative director at Ubi Montpellier would say. EndWar was a voice-controlled RTS set in the Tom Clancy universe for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC. Created at Ubi Shanghai and launched in 2008.
It seems that Ubisoft is betting all its chips on new R.U.S.E. strategy title, where players succeed by deceiving their opponent on the battlefield to gain the upper hand. Did you play EndWar, videogamer? Do you think it needs more singleplayer focus?
