Someone decided to find out what a SSD could do for Gran Turismo 5’s long load times, and happily it cuts them almost in half; smoother menus too.
The test by user ‘Phil’ involved swapping a PS3 HDD for a OCZ Vertex 60GB SSD, with fansite GTPlanet confirming the results with much glee. Apparently getting to the data faster also helps GT5’s menus go much more smoothly as they’re data intensive.
”I would highly recommend this upgrade to anyone looking to enhance their GT5 experience,” posted the savvy SSD gamer. ”Well, my install for GT5 only took 25 minutes including the update.” Usually this process takes over 40 minutes.
