Will Phasmophobia support crossplay? Phasmophobia is currently planned for release on consoles in October 2024. Originally intended to launch in tandem with the Progression 2.0 update, the release has been postponed to just before Halloween on the 29th October. A key question for players is whether crossplay will be available between consoles and PCs.
Developer Kinetic Games confirmed that Phasmophobia will have crossplay support on the PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PC, and PSVR 2. It will become available as soon as the console ports are launched on 29 October.
Does Phasmophobia Support Crossplay on PS5?
Phasmophobia players, whether on PC, Xbox Series X, PlayStation 5, or PS VR, will be able to team up with others across all platforms. Thanks to full crossplay support, no ghost hunter will be left behind when it comes to matchmaking and playing with friends, regardless of the device they’re using.
Crossplay support was officially confirmed in a promotional trailer released by Kinetic Games, which also unveiled the first details of the upcoming Progression update and the game’s console release.
We attended a press event to see the Halloween update where crossplay was once again confirmed to be available once the console versions launched, so there have been no changes in direction for this.
If you’re the type who prefers to stick to your gaming tribe, no worries. There will be an option to switch off crossplay in the settings menu.
As Progression 2.0 rolls out, all players can expect a level reset. But don’t worry, legacy players - your past hunts won’t go unnoticed. You’ll earn prestige levels that unlock some of your previously acquired equipment. Additionally, the update is set to bring about alterations to some of the equipment, like the D.O.T.S. Projector and Spirit Box, as well as seasonal events and an improved reward system.
