New 360 Slim model launches today.

Don Mattrick has just announced the rumoured Xbox 360 Slim that had done the rounds this morning was not only real, but that it would be launching today for the same price as the Xbox 360 Elite (299 USD).

The new 360 model is smaller, thinner, quieter (so they say) and has a built in 250GB hard drive and Wi-Fi. It’ll also be ‘Kinect Ready’, whatever that means.

Anyone who was lucky enough to be at the media briefing will receive a free console, and Microsoft have begun shipping out to US stores today. Europe will get the new console on July 16th.
