This one would be even cheaper because it’s designed to replace the already low priced Arcade SKU, which will now be left to run out of stock.
The Xbox 360 Elite is being cut by $50 in the US and so is the Arcade model, which means you will need to pay just $250 and $150 respectively. The new pricing comes into immediate effect say Microsoft. Both of these models are being discontinued.
The new slim Xbox 360 will replace the Elite models for good, what with its added bonuses over the old bulky model. However Microsoft still want an Arcade SKU option for consumers so they intend an even slimmer, if you will, Xbox 360 design.
One theory is that it will be without in-built Wi-Fi or 250GB HDD attached. Much like it’s older brothers the new designed Xbox 360 does support detachable HDDs, which now connect underneath the console and not on the side.
Product Marketing Manager for Xbox, Ryan Moore, told GameSpot that all future releases of the console will now be without a name like Elite or Arcade, and instead be designated by the HDD capacity they come with.
For a while the current new slim model will be the only one going on sale. How does the new look of Xbox 360 strike you, videogamer?
