Some have made the superficial assumption that Monday Night Combat is a clone of Team Fortress 2, since they are both cel-shaded cartoon-ish squad based shooters, but they’d be wrong, both in style and in substance.
Monday Night Combat sets itself up as a Monday night sport like football - but with guns and knives, complete with announcers and raucous fans. You earn money with kills and goal accomplishments - and even get money for successful taunting. The game itself is rife with sarcastic humor, and there will be many moments in which you might laugh out loud.
There are two types of games: Blitz, in which you have to protect the Moneyball from swarms of robots, and Crossfire, in which each team has to protect their own Moneyball from the other team, each team assisted by robots. The game is fast and funny, and is one of the best multiplayer experiences out there.
Pre-ordering now gains entry to the beta starting December 16.
