This is good for everyone they say, with better server economies and a bigger pool of players to group up with and tackle end game content.
They haven’t yet disclosed when these mergers will be taking place but expect to announce something to Aion users ”in the coming weeks,” producer Chris Hager told the community in his latest letter, reports Massively.
”I don’t relish the idea of mergers,” he said. No MMO studio does, as it’s a sign that their creation is dipping in popularity which is understandably demoralising for all.
”However, once it is complete you should notice improvements in each of the new server economies, an abundance of players to group and run instances with, a number of great Legions to join or people to form new ones with, and a more tightly knit community.”
”When all is said and done, Aion will be a better game because of the server merge.”
The latest content update is due for release on the Aion live servers June 2nd, bringing the game to version 1.09. Work has already begun on the huge challenge of their next content update, version 2.0, and is expected sometime in the fall.
Do you play Aion? Have the servers been feeling a little sparse in chatter?
