According to reports from PC Gamer, the next Tomb Raider game will take the franchise in a different direction, as it will feature a large open-world setting on a Japanese Island.
The magazines’s ”Spy” section reads: ”Set on a Japanese island, the idea is to have one, cohesive level with multiple ways around the puzzles. We’ll also be exploring Lara’s origins, so she’ll be younger and inexperienced in the ways of raiding tombs.”
Previous rumours pointed to a Chrismas 2011 release on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC.
Nothing has been confirmed yet, so take this with a pinch of salt until we find out more.
