Publisher and developer Kinetic Games today unveiled Phasmophobia’s 2025 roadmap, giving us a first look at the reworks and new content additions coming to the co-op horror game throughout the year.
2025’s first major update Chronicle, brings changes to the game’s journal while also reworking the process of capturing evidence related to our ghostly targets.

In practice, this sees the Photos tab replaced with a new Media tab split into three sections dedicated to collecting photos, videos, and sound recordings. Each section only logs its dedicated evidence type.
In addition, the first capture of any of the above media types will be labeled as unique, earning ghost hunters large amounts of cash and experience when completing a contract.
The major Chronicle update also introduces the Sound Recorder, a new piece of equipment that helps us on our hunts. Used to record “unique paranormal sounds” that we can then listen to, it allows us to discover more clues about our targets.
Also marked as a major update on Phasmophobia’s 2025 roadmap is a player character overhaul. On top of that, a new small map is on the way later this year, while two existing maps are slated to be reworked.
“Bleasdale Farmhouse will receive a complete overhaul, with visual enhancements and a complete redesign of the layout, including new locations for ghosts to haunt,” the developer explains in an emailed press release. “Players will be able to explore a garden just outside the main living room, complete with ghost rooms, as well as revamped areas to explore.”
Grafton Farmhouse is the second map that is due to be reworked later this year. Easter, Halloween, and the seasonal holidays are also slated for updates.
While this wraps up Phasmophobia’s 2025 roadmap, the developer is already planning 2026’s updates, which include house map reworks and more new maps, alongside the rather ominously named Horror 2.0 relaunch.
“We’re beyond excited for the new updates and reworks coming to Phasmophobia this year,” said Daniel Knight (Dknighter), Director of Kinetic Games and Lead Developer of Phasmophobia. “Our early access period so far has given us a fantastic opportunity to listen to our players, and the big changes we’re making directly reflect the feedback we’re seeing. We’re proud of the direction Phasmophobia is going in, thanks in no small part to our amazing community, and we can’t wait to see what everyone thinks of some of the surprises in store for 2025.”
Phasmophobia has surpassed 2 million sales on console and 20 million sales on PC.
