A team of 17 employees from the former development department of TGC, Silver Style Entertainment, will be merged with the newly founded Noumena Studios, which is owned by Kalypso Media.
This acquisition also grants Kalypso publishing rights for the PC titles Simon the Sorcerer 5, Goin’ Downtown and Everlight.
”Our acquisition of the Demonicon and UCITI brands and the foundation of our third studio will further enhance our already burgeoning line-up for 2011 and 2012, and solidifies our position as an independent international publisher and developer,” said Simon Hellwig, Global Managing Director Kalypso Media Group.
Stefan Marcinek, Global Managing Director Kalypso Media Group, stated, “We are pleased to welcome the remaining employees of the internal TGC/Silver Style Studios team into the newly founded Noumena Studios. We are sure they will find Kalypso Media a competent partner and a safe home for the future.”
Kalypso appointed former TGC project manager André Schmitz, as Studio Director of Noumena. The team’s focus will be Demonicon, which is scheduled to be released for PC and console in Q1 2012. Continuation of the browser game project UCITI is currently being considered.
“After a turbulent insolvency we are very pleased to have Kalypso as a key investor and partner” said André Schmitz of Noumena Studios ”We are happy that Kalypso will keep the core team together – as they did with the creation of Gaming Minds Studios after purchasing Ascaron’s assets. Kalypso has shown that long term cooperation is a high priority for them.”
