It continues to ”uphold strong repeat sales” as they prepare to release PES 2012. Profit for Konami’s first quarter of 2012 was up a very handsome 220 percent.
Revenue rose 3.3 percent to 54,915 million yen which is about £423m. Profit though skyrocketed 220 percent although what that actually means is less impressive when you see the figures. 4,043 million yen (£31m) is what they actually got to bank for the quarter.
PES 2012, Neverdead and Silent Hill Downpour are on the Konami line-up horizon. They’ve got plans for PlayStation Vita and Nintendo Wii U as well.
”Amidst such a backdrop, our belief is that we can increase the number of outlets for Konami game content through the appearance of new devices by developing our business around the content,” read Konami’s financial statement.
”We will propose ways of playing games that match the characteristics of each device.”
PES 2012 releases on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC October 14th.
