Xbox Live down, games revert to trial status [Update: Fixed]

UPDATE: The games are no longer showing as trials, while DLC is working for some. This is probably the implementation of cloud saves onto the system which is adjusting.

Xbox Live is down, but in a strange way. While there’s no problem logging onto the system, playing games disconnects from Live.

Worse, Xbox Live Arcade games revert to trial status, making them impossible to play.

All Microsoft has to say is: “We are aware of the problem and are working to resolve the issue. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and thank you for your patience.”

One has to wonder why digital games games would be unavailable to play without Live, however. The solution could be simple if the player could disconnect from Live and play them, but a good chunk of them have reverted to trial status even offline.
