Creative Assembly has announced that Total War: Shogun 2 will be getting a brand-new downloadable campaign called ‘Rise of the Samurai’, which will be available in September. The DLC takes place 400 years before the main Shogun 2 campaign, and follows the Gempei War and the emergence of the samurai as a ruling class in Japan. Steam lists the price of the DLC at $9.99 USD.
The DLC features six new clans to lead, including the Taira, Minamoto and Fujiwara families, four new heroes, four new agents (each with their own skill tree) which include the Shirabyoshi and the Junsatsushi Inspectors, 16 new land units including the Tetsubo Warrior Monk and the female Onna Bushi, 10 new naval units, 10 new mons and 10 new retainers.
A new patch will be released along with the ‘Rise of the Samurai’ campaign as well.
