LinkedIn has betrayed many secrets of the videogame industry, sometimes to reveal Assassin’s Creed 3 or some other hush-hush game is in development, and sometimes to show games that had been started then aborted.
Fans of the martial arts RPG from Bioware, Jade Empire, will tear their hair out finding out that Jade Empire 2 had started development in 2006 for PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, as the LinkedIn resume of former BioWare designer Rafael Jabulani Brown.
One has to wonder what caused Bioware to abort development of Jade Empire 2. Possibly their attentions were pulled from the project by Microsoft commissioning Mass Effect? Someday we’ll find out.
It’s too bad Gun 2 was never released, too. It was a nice proto-Red Dead Redemption game.
